We are always keen to try new products and food ideas, so it was with some interest that we opened a parcel from Nims Crisps with samples of their fruit crisps.
What strikes you first when you open the packet is the smell of fresh fruit, and that is not surprising as the crisps are not fried, they are simply dried fruit. The second thing to note before tasting the crisps is how attractive the individual crisps are, they look what they are, just a slice of fruit without the water content, unlike some other dried fruit products they don’t withered and old, but retain the bright colour of the fresh fruit. Having smelt and looked at the Nims Fruit Crisps the next stage was to try the last and perhaps the most challenging task, the taste test. Nims Fruit Crisps exceded the taste expectations, so much so that all four sample packets were finished within 10 minutes, each of us who tried them said, ‘goodness these are good, what is the rest of the range like’.
So for us there could be only one outcome, we decided to list the full range as soon as we could, so within the next couple of weeks we will be stocking the complete range of Nims Fruit Crisps in the shop and online for mail order .
In the range at the moment there is :
- Apple and Strawberry – the combination of sweet apple and intense strawberry make these a great intruduction to the range, the sliced dried apple was a particular favourite with all at Naturally Good Food.
- Pineapple and Mango – a more exotic combination of dried fruit, Satisfyingly sweet pineapple and melt in the mouth mango.
- Apple and Kiwi – Sweet apple and tangy kiwi, the same dried apple but this time paired with an unusual dried fruit. kiwi, can’t quite work out why dried kiwi is not more widely used as it really makes a great dried fruit.
- Orange and Melon – Mouth tingling zesty orange and moreish melon, again an unusual dried fruit combination, but as with the other three options it works just as well, the dried orange looks almost like a christmas tree decoration.
The Nims Fruit Crisps make are really good snack, they have a clean refreshing taste that would work as well with nibbles as they do in the kids lunch box. The unusual combination of a very attractive look and great taste would make them a great hit with friends.
As Nims themselves say “Nim’s Fruit Crisps are a tasty yet healthy snack for adults and kids alike. Nim’s are hand made from only the freshest fruit and are 100% natural”
