Soaking Organic Dried Fruit

Added on November 29th, 2010
Found in Crazy Jack, Dried Fruit

In the middle of winter it is nice to have a taste of summer and what could be better than an Apricot crumble, but with Apricots out of season you could use Organic Dried Apricots.

Place your dried Apricots in a mixing bowl, cover with lukewarm water and stir gently with a spoon making sure that all the dried fruit is covered. Cover the bowl and transfer to the refrigerator and let the fruit soak up the water; this could take a couple of hours. When the fruit is plumped up drain off the excess and water and use the fruit immediately as desired.

Keep the discarded water and you can use it as an exercise drink. Using organic dried fruit ensures that you don’t eat pesticide residues on the skin of the fruit.

For an alternative recipe you could use the Crazy Jack Ready to Eat Soft Dried Apricots and follow the recipe on our website for Apricot Crumble Squares.
