Raise a big cheer for chia! These tiny black dots, from a plant in the mint family, normally come to us from south America, where theyve been grown since the time of the Aztecs. This superfood is a complete protein, full of antioxidants and minerals, and stuffed with nutty fibre. Nibble them, sprinkle them over food, stir them into baking, or grind them to a thick porridge. They thicken and boost absolutely anything you fancy.
Chia seeds were cultivated by the Aztecs in pre-Columbian times; economic historians have suggested that it was as important as maize as a food crop.
This is a larger bag of Chia Seeds, more economical for caterers or when you find you can get through a lot.
