These are beautiful black sesame seeds that taste much like the regular light coloured ones but contain anthocyanins. This is a larger bag useful for caterers and bakers. As well as looking great they are, like all sesame seeds, rich in natural unsaturated oils and calcium.
Use as any sesame seed, to top bread rolls or add to the dough, or in Asian cookery. Sesame seeds are an important ingredient in Tahini and sesame seed snaps and these black ones can be used in these to good effect. Interestingly there are 2 lignans (phytoestrogens) called Sesamin and Sesamolin in these seeds which are the subject of research into limiting cancer cell growth.
Organically grown whole (unhulled) Black Sesame Seeds, usually from Austria.
