This white rice, with its characteristically long, thin grains, is highly prized for its fragrance and taste. On cooking, it swells and lengthens up to twice its dry length, to produce a bright white, fragrant rice. This basmati rice has very few broken grain or chalks, and has been double water-polished so that it cooks clearly.
