These organic almonds come from the almond trees of Spain and are sweet and crunchy, with a delicate milky flavour. You can buy these almonds with a clear conscience as theyre not grown intensively, so do not require huge amounts of water in drought regions. They don't rely on mass pollination and so help to protect the health of bees. And they are not pasteurised either: thats good news if youre on a raw diet, and good news if, like us, you don't agree with the addition of unnecessary chemicals.
Organically grown almonds make a great snack, both eaten raw or lightly toasted and can be ground up to make your own homemade almond butter.
They have a slightly thicker skin than the American almonds and may contain the very occasional bitter nut
