This versatile nut can be used in many dishes: try adding hazelnuts to a muesli mix, or to salads. Hazelnuts also work well in cakes and cookies and have a particular affinity with chocolate.

Hazelnuts are rich in unsaturated fat (much of this being oleic acid, which works to lower levels of bad cholesterol). Hazelnuts are also packed with magnesium and manganese and are fine sources of vitamin E and the B-complex vitamins.
