Barleycup is a lovely instant hot drink which is caffeine free as well as gluten free. It does not pretend to be coffee but it does offer a great alternative. Although it is made from grains that contain gluten none of the gluten is transfered during the production process into the final product. This 200g jar is the original powdered version, which is also available in a smaller 100g jar or as granules

Add hot water to a teaspoon of Barleycup in a cup ( I like 2 teaspoons for a mug) and add milk of your choice. It works equally well with soya milk , or nut and rice milks, or black with lemon.
Why not try Barleycup Amaretto: Put 2 tsp Barleycup in a cup, add 300ml hot water and add 1 tbsp Amaretto, sprinkle with chocolate flakes. You can also add whipped cream.
Barleycup granules can also be used in baking as you might use instant coffee, in brownies and cookies.
