This wholegrain rye flour is made from the seeds of rye grass; it's high in fibre and low in fat, with a distinctive flavour. Rye flour is naturally lower in gluten than wheat flour and produces a closer-textured bread.

Rye flour originated in Turkey. It was used extensively during the time of the Roman Empire and is still a popular bread flour in Europe.
