A handy small bag of dried figs, with a delicious smell and a squidgy, juicy interior, bursting with little seeds. Figs are a great source of fibre and are full of potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron and copper, as well as vitamins A, E and K. They're renowned for helping digestion and indeed, make a good natural laxative!
These dried figs are particularly good for baking. They can also be eaten straight from the packet or rehydrated in water to soften them. The seeds inside each fig have a delightful crunch, but the end of the stalk is a little harder.

Sometimes, the sugar inside dried figs begins to crystallise on the outside. If you've not seen this before, it can look a little surprising - even, if there's a lot of sugar, a bit like mould. Rest assured, it's nothing of the sort. Sugars form naturally on the surface of the fruit over time, and this only adds to its delicious taste. Many of our customers drool over the particularly sugared figs!
