A bulk box of large, beautifully sweet, succulent Medjoul dates which come with the stones (pits) still in. These dates are too soft for the mechanical removal of the stone, but they come out really easily and neatly if you just make a slit in the side. This them makes them really easy to stuff with whole almonds, marzipan or even goats cheese and bacon.
Perhaps the tastiest date you will ever eat - ideal for serving with cheese and wine.
These dates are stored frozen for freshness and should be kept refrigerated, where they have a shelf-life of six months.
You may also like the Deglet nour Dates which are a little firmer and more wrinkly and come with the stones (pits) removed.
Do you know why dates are called dates? Its because when they hang on the tree, they look like bunches of little fingers and the Ancient Greek word for finger is daktulos, a little like date! If you need something thats naturally sweet, try a date: its better than a toffee, but tastes just like one!
Sweet and juicy, these are packed with potassium, iron and vitamin B-6.
