This is an alternative to cheese sauce for those who wish to completely avoid dairy foods. It has a tangy rich cheese-like flavour and mixes up in minutes, using just water, or for a creamier taste, rice or soya milk.

Use 3 or 4 heaped teaspoons of Dairy Free Cheese Flavour Sauce Mix to 300ml of cold water. Add a little of the cold water to the mix and stir to give a smooth paste. Slowly add the remainder of the water to the paste. Transfer to a saucepan and bring to the boil over a medium heat, stirring continuously until thick. For a creamier tasting sauce try replacing the cold water with rice milk or unsweetened soya milk.
